5th/6th Graders

Right now, the 5th and 6th graders are working on a series of artwork with food as the subject matter. They LOVE this! Their first step was to choose a fun food that they will draw in detail in colored pencil. We have been working on colored pencil gradients, so I am encouraging them to use gradients to help make their drawings look more realistic. Next, they are making miniature versions of the food they drew. Tiny being the key work. They are learning how to work with the clay...different things they can do with the clay to help it look like their food. Their last part of the project, we will be working with Paper Mache. This will be messy...we haven't gotten there yet though.
