A week in review....

This week has been all about getting ready for the art symposium...so some classes had a little free art time this week. Fourth grade actually started making snowflakes for the Elf Junior, The Musical. Although a lesson I think we all learn as children (how to cut basic snowflakes)...It was a great opportunity to review symmetry and even scissor safety! They also learn how cutting too much off of the paper will make the snowflake fall apart. Needless to say, the fourth graders had fun for 30 minutes making snowflakes that will be on display...even if it isn't quite Christmas yet!

Elementary classes all celebrated the 50th day of school this week, so they had lots of fun dress up days and party days. This gave me the opportunity to have all of the kinders together for a fun day of art stations! They used dot makers on large pieces of artwork, made jewelry from beads and pipe cleaners, played with play doh, and drew on wipe erase boards. That was a fun afternoon!

All of my other classes were finishing pumpkins and flowers for the Art Symposium evening. The Symposium was a success with a great turnout and awesome artwork and music! This was our first one for GCA, so we are looking forward to expanding on this event for next school year! Enjoy the pictures from this busy week! Next week...we start Thanksgiving projects and I CAN'T WAIT!
